Pure DXM

Pure DXM, also known as dextromethorphan is a common, active ingredient in many cough medications. Pure DXM can be extracted from substances such as cough syrup that contain other ingredients so that one is left with a pure DXM powder.

Shawn, 23, Talks About Pure DXM:
"[When I used with friends] DXM made people feel like their stomachs were coming up through their throats. They would get cramps, severe cramps, their faces would turn purple or they would start throwing up all over the place. It was non-stop -- it was worse than if you drank a whole bottle of vodka or something like that. They said it was like the worst sickness feeling that they ever had.

"It was unbelievable the way that, you know, things happen, how you just totally don't care. You don't care about cops, you don't care about your car, and you don't care about nothing. I started doing anything and everything I wanted without fear. DXM kind of took all fear away.

"I would stay up two, three days at a time, just re-dosing myself. I was pushing almost two-thousand milligrams, which is, I mean, enough for four or five people to take at a time. The more I took, the better I felt because I was really chasing something, I guess you'd say. I was trying to get back to that same feeling from the first time I experienced it. But the more I took, the better I felt, the more relaxed I became. Well, at least I thought I was relaxed. My friends and family all said that I was off the wall and that I was actually insane."
